The inspiration for today’s D Best Of post comes from my kids. Now that’s school’s out, they’ve already started asking for smoothies. Smoothies are a summer staple at our house. Because I’m allergic to dairy, I’ve started making soy milk smoothies, and they go over surprisingly well with the kids. They really like my no-milk milkshakes made with soy milk and soy ice cream. Throw some fruit or peanut butter in there, and you really can’t tell the difference!
The blender I have is the $13 one my husband bought to replace the 30-year old blender my parents handed down to me. Needless to say, it does the job, but it’s not something I rave about.
